Hi, Shalom. My name is Arielle Shekel.

New York born and Tel Aviv raised, I’m a design leader, artist and entrepreneur. I love thinking big and crafting beautiful products, brands and systems. I love finding opportunity in messy situations and working with interesting people on things that I believe will make a positive dent in the world.

Upon turning 18, I joined the Israeli Defense Forces and served in an elite combat unit as a camouflage painter. I like to call this my first product design gig. After initiating and designing the rebranding of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, originally as my university graduation project, I continued to specialize in creating visual identities with a strong focus on the design and strategy of start-ups at various stages.

In 2014 I participated in the inaugural class of 30 Weeks, an exclusive entrepreneurship program for designers sponsored by Google, where I founded Ananas - an educational platform for children. Following that I joined the Columbia University Business School to co-found Cube, a multidisciplinary program at the intersection of Design, Business, Technology and Storytelling.

I joined Facebook in 2017 where I led design for FB Lite, Facebook’s growing app for emerging markets. In 2019 I moved to NYC to join the Stories team as a Product Design Lead.
